Asylum

Picture of passport

Asylum and immigration are emotive topics throughout the country. Over 50's are generally tolerant people with more important things to think about than racist dogma and ethnic persecution. However, ethnic concentrations have developed around the country that clearly can be threatening both socially and economically to some.

Mature citizens would not want to turn away genuine asylum seekers searching for safety and refuge from tyranny and oppression. But mis-management of immigration has eroded this goodwill. The Pensioners Party seeks proper control, with sincerely correct statistics, and every attempt made to spread the impact on UK society as widely as possible.

We would also favour seeking out illegal aliens, establishing their benefit to our society and if the need arises repatriate them to their homeland. Any alien, whether nationalised or not, who abuses our way of life, acts criminally, or performs any anti-social behaviour should be deported without appeal.

It would appear at present that the only way to differentiate between the two type of aliens is for the implementation of a comprehensive ID system. Whilst generally not in favour of a big brother type system we would prefer this as the lesser of two ills. Therefore it might, following extensive discussion and perhaps a referendum be necessary to formulate an exact census document. This census should be allied to the Tax and NI offices for corroboration and issue of a definitive ID number to everyone that has completed the census form. Failure to hold an ID due to non compliance with completion of the census document should prevent anyone from work, goods or services, benefits, banking or credit card facilities, medical care other than emergency, in order for the person to participate is any way within our society.

Having satisfied the population that a fairly comprehensive filtering system has been successful we will delete as much of the computerised checking system as far as feasible. There would be tough penalties for any misuse of the ID system.

We would be in favour of a comprehensive photographic, DNA, blood and fingerprint database allied with the ID system. This would be used not only to resolve immigration issues, such as falsification of parentage, but also in the fight against crime. There should be very little excuse for the police in not solving an abundance of crime.
