Peace
The mood of pensioners is one of pacifism; supported by concern over the instigation and escalation of war in Iraq. This party believes that the country should be guided to be more in line with European views and less dependant on US direction.
International peace will always be elusive whilst mankind tries to enforce its ideologies on to the rest of the world. Religion, ethnic differences, territorial ownership, language barriers, history, military strength, mineral rights, food and water shortages, technology, disparity in levels of education and advancement, suspicion, over population, misunderstanding, ignorance, crime, anti-social behaviour to name but a few all deter the human race operating as a single entity. The same good and evil battle that has raged since time begun will forever dog the human race until it's own extinction.
The only good side effect is that with conflict, there always seems to be advancement within fractious societies. Although disastrous, the two world wars, without a doubt accelerated rocket research and advanced space exploration quicker that otherwise would be realized. Of course nothing can be compensated for the human misery and suffering felt at the time nor could ever justify any advancement in technology. It does seem a fact of life that a proportion of mankind is always developing new technologies to resolve issues with the remainder.
The Pensioners Party would work towards the common good of all mankind and assist wherever possible to assist in resolving any conflicts.
