Public Relations

This post is at present unpaid and may well suit a retired person whose previous work experience was of a similar nature. If you also have experience in dealing or a desire to involve themselves in aspects of the elderly, such as pensions, care, rights, health, taxation or something similar this would help.

We anticipate the area of expertise would include the following:-

Verbal and written skills appropriate to the need so as to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of media, staff and party members.

Research and evaluation of potential supporters, reports and articles pertaining to all political parties.

Planning campaigns, analysing problems and evaluating opportunities.

Writing and editing press releases and newsletters for the web site.

Preparing publicity brochures, handouts and direct mail leaflets,

Answering enquiries from individuals, journalists and other organisations.

Developing and maintaining good working relations with the media, including local and national newspapers, magazines, radio and television.

Organising press conferences and sponsorships.

Fostering community relations

Ensuring news coverage in the national and regional news media, including establishing regular contacts with key journalists, writing press releases and articles.
