Youth

Picture of young people

The Youth of today should be our future. Unfortunately a significant proportion appear to have lost their way. Lack of parental control, teachers who are not fearful not only of their pupils, but also repercussions if they say or do anything remotely wrong, lack of respect, criminal and public obscene behaviour especially of a sexual nature, binge drinking, vandalism to name but a few. Obviously it is easy to smear with the same paintbrush, but there is no doubt unruly attitudes abound. This must be corrected for a better future.

We must make parents more responsible, give teachers back supervisory powers, and ensure better monitoring of individuals.

We have never be comfortable with raising the level of adulthood to that of 21 but the genie is out of the bottle and we must find other ways to neutralise the lack of adult behaviour. We have no objection to anyone having fun, but when it impinges on the civil liberties, rights, privacy, space and enjoyment of others then means must be found to correct the problems.

Repeat and habitual offenders who have absolutely no respect for others existence must be removed from society until such time that they have been rehabilitated. We would initially advocate punishment of minor offences with being monitored by prison or home service units for public duties such as cleaning of roads and the countryside, removal of graffiti, cleaning of pavements of chewing gum, assistance for the elderly in a variety of ways. The more ignorant should be drafted into special army units for specialised training.
